Rememberance

Pvt Baluk went MIA July 19 1944 and the a Disposition was made to change that statement to KIA when his body was found. In his army career he earned a purple heart for his sacriice for this country.The Purple Heart is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those wounded or killed while serving, on or after 5 April 1917, with the U.S. military.

★ World War II Victory Medal The World War II Victory Medal was awarded for service between 7 December 1941 and 31 December 1946

★ American Campaign Medal it is a military award for military members that performed in theater. 

 Army Presidential Unit Citation conferred on units of the armed forces of the United States and of cobelligerent nations, for extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy on or after Dec. 7, 1941.

 Army Good Conduct Medal Persons awarded this medal must have had character and efficiency ratings of excellent or higher throughout the qualifying period, including time spent in attendance at service schools, and there must have been no convictions by court martial.

 European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign awarded for service in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater between Dec. 7, 1941 and Nov. 8, 1945,

The picture to the right is the Normandy American Cemetary in France had 9,387 people total were buried there and 1,557 are on the walls of the missing. 

I created this page in memory of Pvt. Baluk, a brave man who gave his life in service to his country. They exemplified bravery, fidelity, and commitment. We recall their bravery, generosity, and unflinching devotion to service. May their remembrance glisten in our hearts for all time. We share your sorrow, family and loved ones. May his bravery throughout his military career be recalled always.
