Micheal Baluk

Pvt Baluk was born in and enlisted in Philly,pa The kestone state is in the tope right of the US and philidelphia is near the bottom of the state.   

The War Manpower Commission oversaw the distribution of personnel to industries throughout the metropolitan region due to a labor shortage due to air patrols and air raid drills. Pvt Baluk being from philly could have been somewhat involved this this group. 

The Philidelphia naval yard was a major part of ww2 and helping the US be useful it was the shipyard's most productive period, with 53 ships launched and 574 repaired, including USS New Jersey and USS Wisconsin. 

Pvt Baluk was a resiednt in philly and would have loved this scene and crowd i imagine. The context behind it was an effort to counter the radical fascism that was engulfing Europe, soldiers joined the Army to defend their nation and the freedom of others. This was a message to the enemy, saying we did it once we can do it again.
